About the Study:

Obesity is a chronic disease and has an increasing prevalence as a public health concern associated with
the rising numbers of individuals getting Type 2 Diabetes and increased risk for premature death and
some cancers. Lifestyle interventions in the form of diet and exercise are always the first line of treatment
for obesity, but it is difficult to achieve and maintain weight loss. Surgical treatments also offer an
effective alternative for some people with severe obesity, but surgery carries a large risk of
complications.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication that paired with diet and exercise, potentially could help with weight loss. This study will last approximately 84 weeks with 16 visits to our office and 12 telephone calls. This study involves an intensive lifestyle change with diet and exercise counseling. Compensation for time and travel may be available to those who qualify up to $1950.
