About The Study:

Influenza and pneumonia viruses are two of the leading causes of death in the United States. They are both respiratory viruses but pneumonia is known as an infection that attacks the lungs. They still are very deadly and at times the flu can lead to pneumonia and be very severe. This occurs more in children, older adults, and people who are immunocompromised. They are both very contagious and tend to be most infectious during the winter months. The Flu and pneumonia have their own symptoms but common symptoms that they share are chills, cough, body aches, no appetite, and vomiting. The flu usually resolves itself fairly quickly but pneumonia can last up to 4 weeks and have lingering side effects and symptoms for up to 6 months after.

The study we are conducting is a phase 3 and is testing the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of the vaccines administered at the same time. It is for adults who are 50 years and older and will last around 7 months. It includes 3 visits to our office and 4 telephone call appointments. Study-related is available to participants in the trial at no cost and health insurance is not required nor needed. Compensation for this study is also available for participants for up to $250.
