About the Study:
HSV-2 or the herpes simplex virus 2, is a virus that causes genital herpes. Genital herpes is a common sexually transmitted disease that any sexually active person can get. According to the CDC more than 1 in every 6 people aged 14 to 49 years in the United States have genital herpes.
Currently, there is no approved vaccine to prevent genital herpes.
The purpose of this study will be to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a vaccine to prevent genital herpes. This study will last approximately 15 months with 11 visits to our office.
Study-related care is available to participants at no cost and health insurance is not required nor needed. Compensation for time and travel is available to those who qualify.
- Between the ages of 18-40 years old
- No previous diagnosis of genital herpes infection
- Generally healthy
- Must live within 2 hours of Rochester Clinical Research site
