About the study

Pneumonia is one of the infections caused by Pneumococcal disease. It can range in seriousness from mild to life threatening. For instance, it is most serious for infants, young children and people over the age of 65 years old. Currently, there are two different vaccines to protect against pneumococcal diseases. However, there is a need for a better vaccine to protect against additional types of this bacteria.

Rochester Clinical Research is currently enrolling generally healthy individuals between the ages of 18-50 for a vaccine research study. This study is to evaluate the safety of and effectiveness of the study vaccine that may better protect against pneumonia. Finally, the study will last approximately 6 months with 2 visits to our office and 1 telephone call.

Compensation for time and travel may be available up to $100 ($50 per completed visit), for those who qualify.  There is no cost for participating in a research study, and health insurance is not required or needed.
