Volunteer Recruitment
Successful recruitment calls for knowing how to use tried-and-true methods as well as newer, more innovative approaches. RCR thrives with both. Experience has taught us the value of having a variety of tools available to ensure successful recruitment of volunteers. We continually evaluate new means of recruitment, staying current with the changing world of communications. All recruitment materials are submitted to the IRB for review prior to use. Two full-time recruiters are used for patient screening. We currently use the following recruitment methods:
- Volunteer database (presently over 16,500), managed by state-of-the-art software to allow filtering of volunteers by study attributes to maximize success in volunteer study placement. This database is the starting point for identifying recruitment candidates.
- Physician referrals from large rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology and gynecology private practices.
- Private practice databases from each referring physician, with access to over 10,000 volunteers.
- This web site with an online volunteer application form and an up-to-the-minute list of active studies for which we are recruiting. We are also connected to social media channels such as LinkedIn and Twitter.
- Advertising, including television, newspaper, radio, direct mail, community posters and a periodic e-newsletter.
- Experienced in working with 800 numbers and central recruitment services.
