Do you or someone you know suffer from painful Shingles?

Are you familiar with Shingles? Shingles is a disease that is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. The risk for Shingles increases as you get older and can be painful and cause serious problems. People on chronic doses of corticosteroid therapy may be at greater risk of developing Shingles.

Rochester Clinical Research is currently looking for people at least 60 years of age who have been on a stable dose of corticosteroid therapy for at least 8 weeks to participate in a research study evaluating an investigational use of Shingles vaccine.

Participation will last up to 6 months. Two out of three study participants will receive the active vaccine. Compensation for study-related time and travel may be available

In you are interested in helping to further efforts to prevent this disease by participating in this research study, please call Debbie or Jane at Rochester Clinical Research, 585-288-0890 for more information.

What are Clinical Trials?

They are research studies that answer specific questions about vaccines, new therapies or new ways of using known treatments. Clinical trials are used to determine whether new drugs or treatments are safe and effective. Carefully conducted clinical trials are the fastest and safest way to find treatments that work.

Why participate in clinical trials?

Participants in clinical trials can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and help others by contributing to medical research.
